1. Change your online status

   To hide your online status in Viber, go to the settings section, select “Privacy” and untick “Share ‘Online’ Status”.

   
2. Make Viber profile photo hidden from unknown users

   Profile photo on Viber helps your contacts to identify you easily, but you can keep it hidden from unknown users. Select “Privacy”, and untick “Show your photo” option.

3. Change the seen option for contacts

   In case you do not want your contacts to know when you have seen or read their messages, you can change the option. Go to settings, select “Privacy”, and take the tick off the “Send ‘seen’ status” line.

4. Use an App lock to block Viber

   You can ensure that no one is able to read your Viber private messages by using an App lock to block access to your Apps. Download an App lock to your mobile device so that you can lock the App through a biometric/password lock.

There can be incidents that a user requires to delete his/her data from the Viber account as a precaution. Therefore, if an account gets compromised the sensitive data won’t be there in the chats anymore.

1. Go to settings and then select Privacy on next window
   
2. Go to Personal data and then select Delete your data in next window
   
3. Confirm the deletion by clicking Delete

If your Viber account got compromised (hacked) or if someone else is using your account it is advanced to remove your account by deactivating the account.

1. Go to settings and then select Account on next window
   
2. Select Deactivate Account and in the next window add the Viber number and click on the Deactivating Account
