Over the last few years, cybercriminals have figured out that the humans are the weakest aspect of the cybersecurity and moved from electronic hacking techniques to social engineering, in which they contact people and deceive them to hand over their sensitive information. Many organizations underestimate the human factor in information and cyber security, although people’s understanding, knowledge, and perceptions on information and cyber security is critical for protecting digital systems in their organizations.
Understanding the current trend, National Information and Cyber Security Strategy of Sri Lanka has proposed online Information and Cyber Security training for all government employees. Sri Lanka CERT|CC, therefore plans to design and deploy e-learning modules to increase the Information and Cyber Security capacity of government employees.
