Safety Starts with Awareness, Awareness Starts with you

The interconnected cyber world offers tremendous benefits to everyone around the world. However, people forget that the online world has the same risks as the real world; Sometimes even more than that.

Cybercriminals are after your personal information, financial details, as well as your networks. Therefore, it is important to take necessary steps to keep ourselves protected within the cyber space while obtaining the maximum benefit out of it.

In cyber security human factor is considered to be the weakest link which can open doors to variety of cyber threats and attacks. We are tended to underestimate the human factor in information and cyber security. It is important to bear in mind that there is no absolute solution to cyber threats as we face different challenges and benefits as the technology evolves.

However, there are many ways to defend your online safety, and it begins with educating yourself and your family regarding the current web threats, issues, and challenges.

Hence Cyber security awareness plays a huge role in safeguarding our information and information systems. Cyber Security awareness means understanding what cyber threats are, the potential impact a cyber-attack will bring and knowing the steps required to reduce risk and prevent cyber-crime from infiltrating your territory.

Cyber safety awareness, warnings to avoid threts and safety requirements help you to remain aware of your own and others’ safety in cyber world. Ignoring these obviously put you and others at risk.

So, do yourself and others a favor: remain aware of your online safety requirements, practice cyber safety awareness at all times in everywhere and in every situation. The result is worth it.

Remember your safety starts with awareness and that awareness shall starts with you.

  1. Phishing Attacks

    Phishing emails and Phishing websites are common methods that malware uses to enter into your devices. You may download such malware via clicks or downloads from phishing email or providing your sensitive information into phishing websites.

    Social engineering is an attack that take the advantage of human psychology and behavior. The attacker tries to manipulate you to provide your sensitive information acting as a trustworthy entity. Social Engineering is performed across multiple platforms including but not limited to text message phishing (SMSishing), phone or voicemail phishing (vishing), and social media phishing.
