Cyber Security Training Program (Technical) in Collaboration with CISCO

Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team | Coordination Centre (Sri Lanka CERT|CC), an agency functioning under the Ministry of Technology is in the process of implementing the National Information and Cyber Security Strategy of Sri Lanka (2019-2023).

In line with the implementation of the Strategy, developing the capacity of government officers on cyber security is considered as a high priority area. Capacity building programs would help government staff to detect, defend and respond to cyber security related incidents on government systems more effective and efficient manner.

Sri Lanka CERT has identified critical government organization and therefore wish provide cyber security training on the Cyber Operations Associate Certification. This program shall be delivered in collaboration with CISCO Academy and the cost the training shall be borne by Sri Lanka CERT. Upon the successful completion of the course, a valuable certificate will be awarded to the participants.

Details of the program is summarized as follows

  1. Required Technical Skills to participate in the program: Experience in networking and cyber security, Basic Windows and Linux system concepts, Binary and Hexadecimal understanding.
  2. Training Mode: Virtual Classes (Online)
  3. Medium: English
  4. Duration: Duration of the program shall be 50 hours and 20 hours for the practical (Minimum 2 Days a week, 2 Hours after 3:00 PM).

Currently Sri Lanka CERT has requested and nominate 50 officers in government organizations as the first batch and commencement date of the training program is 20th March 2021.
